Liquid February Roundup

Table of Contents
We are already blasting through 2020, with two months gone in what feels like no time at all. The cryptocurrency markets put forth a strong performance in the first half of February, but the second half wasn’t so positive.
In general however, interest in cryptocurrency appears to be increasing. Enhanced enthusiasm is something that we relish and aim to contribute towards. It is our belief that the next crypto wave should be fueled by a new era of cryptocurrency where user experience is king. That’s why at Liquid we are so focused on building products that our users understand, want and need.
Here is an update on what changed at Liquid in February.
Liquid Chain
You’ve all been eagerly awaiting more Liquid Chain information. We can’t wait to share more.
For now we are keeping our cards close to our chest as we continue testing, developing and strategizing the Liquid Chain roll out process. However, Liquid’s Co-founder Mario couldn’t wait to give a glimpse behind the scenes.
Head on over to Mario’s Twitter to read the thread and get a little insight into Liquid Chain.
Liquid Chain testnet is live. Liquid Chain was built from the ground up and supports a number of great features, plug and play architecture, 3 programming languages (Rust, C, C++) for smart contracts, proof of stake. $QASH will be the main/native currency.

Klaytn Listing Competitions
KLAY is now live for trading on Liquid. KLAY is the native token of Klaytn, the public blockchain platform developed by Ground X.
The Klaytn blockchain is designed to be simple to use, with the aim of facilitating mass blockchain adoption by combining the best parts of public and private blockchains.
Win big
To celebrate this new listing we are giving away up to 150,000 KLAY tokens. There are three competitions, which means you have three chances to win.
- Deposit KLAY to Liquid and earn a bonus on top.
- Win KLAY in a trading competition.
- Hold KLAY on Liquid to be entered into a prize draw.
Tick Size Improvements
On 3rd February the tick size structure on Liquid was updated. This change was made to improve user experience and top of the book liquidity and we are thrilled to report that it has worked.
We have noticed improved top of book liquidity and improved order API performance. For example, BTC/JPY depth increased 10x-25x and the API p99 response time has reduced by 50%.
Liquid Status
You can now check the status of all Liquid operations using our status page: status.liquid.com

Hummingbot Integration
We recently announced our partnership with Hummingbot and the integration of Liquid with the Hummingbot platform.
What is Hummingbot?
Hummingbot is an open-source software client that facilitates the construction and operation of high-frequency crypto trading bots, available for anyone to use on multiple cryptocurrency exchanges. It can turn a simple trader into a profitable market marker or an advanced algorithmic trader.
What can Hummingbot do?
With Hummingbot there are three different types of bot you can build, all of which present opportunities to profit.
- Arbitrage - A crypto trading bot that looks for chances to buy an asset for a low price on one exchange and sell for higher on another.
- Market Making - Operate a bot that provides liquidity to order books by maintaining buy and sell orders.
- Mirroring - A mix of arbitrage and market making. The bot clones liquidity from one exchange to another.
